Presence awareness across Zoom, Teams, Slack etc would be really cool. Like have your teams / slack status update to βOn a Zoomβ when you are in a meeting, and vice versa.
John Ryan: That last sentence is a great idea and got me thinking about easily exposing the status to other services like Teams or Slack. Do you know what IFTTT(.com) is? If yes, do you think pushing updates there so that you can determine what to do next, would solve your use case? Thanks!
Hi Martijn. I'm aware of IFTTT.com. I'm not sure if the free version give the level of flexibility to be able to set status messages across platforms. It used to, but it's a lot more restricted now. You could probably also do it by triggering a StreamDeck button or action (to do the right key combo) to set status' across clients "manually" if Mutedeck could expose the active client status?
Can't wait to get this integration on macOS as well. Once you get to the point of wanting to test on macOS, happy to alpha/beta test, etc :)
Is there a progress update on this one?
Michael Huettemann: Hi, unfortunately not. Microsoft has made it extremely difficult to (reliably) interact with the elements within the Teams app. I'm still working through a few ideas, though.
Microsoft teams support works for me on Windows 11 when the meeting window is the active window. It also works with Elgato Stream Deck.
Joshua R Adams: Hi Joshua, thanks for confirming! That's a preview of Teams support, but unfortunately, it'll only work after you have toggled or hovered over the meeting controls (video/mute). That's been the pain point, which I've solved by sending a poke to Teams at the beginning of a call. That'll be in a next version of MuteDeck. :-)
Martijn Smit: Any estimate when Teams will be officially supported? That's the only thing keeping me from buying a license.
Chanse Arrington: Very soon, I think next week. Windows is wrapped up and I'm working on finishing macOS support.
Added in v1.3!
Looks like Microsoft has a new API for Teams. Tested the MS plugin and it works without losing focus (at least on Mac) https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/delivering-new-webinar-experiences-with-microsoft-teams/ba-p/3725145
RockxRolla: thanks for the heads up. I saw the announcement and added support for it to MuteDeck. But Microsoft it doing something weird; they pulled the API support for a few days, and they also pulled their Stream Deck Plugin. The latter isn't available still, so I'm waiting to release MuteDeck after they've decided whether or not to actually release it. π
