Feature Requests

The API is useful, but powerful. As it can modify calls (e.g. turning off recording) it would be good to add some security, e.g. some of: * a token parameter? * allow/blocklists lists of IPs allowed to access it? * more granular control of what interfaces/IP were bound to (rather than all/ localhost )

it would be nice for those of us with complex multi-monitor setups if mutedeck opened in the same position on the screen/desktop as was previously used.

Support Slack huddles

Currently there are separate keys to mute mic + camera To have parity with tools like PowerToys VideoConferenceMute, it would be good to be able to mute both at once with a single hotkey (Presumably this is something that could also be added to the API, although most anything calling the API could pretty easily make 2 calls in sequence)

It would be nice to have an option to treat any application that's open with an active audio recording session on the mic that's being controlled as a generic "call" when none of the existing integrations are detected. Not sure how well this translates to Mac, but using Windows APIs I know you can enumerate recording sessions and see the status of which are active. (Presumably you're already using most of the same audio APIs to control the mic status) Having a catch-all for applications that aren't supported would be particularly nice for things like random web conferences that are only used on occasion (I have a few that I use for things like telehealth visits or educational sites)

Adding toggles for the hotkeys would be a good idea for a few reasons: Eliminates the need for the "Leave empty for no hotkey" disclaimer Eliminates the need to re-record bindings if you want to disable them and then turn them back on later Allows for having default bindings without having to have them turned on -- users are much more likely to use them if there's a default than if they have to go through the extra mental effort of trying to decide on a binding on Windows these could be set to some of the same bindings that PowerToys VideoConference Mute uses/used: Mute camera + mic = Win + Shift + Q Mute mic = Win + Shift + A Push to talk = Win + Shift + I Mute camera = Win + Shift + O If you take a similar approach to PowerToys (see attached) and just display the current binding + an edit button that triggers a dialog to set things, that gives a little more flexibility for things like having extended directions, allowing the user to abandon making a change, & allowing for resetting to a default.

With the addition of hotkeys in 2.8, one missing feature that's present in similar applications (like PowerToys VideoConference Mute) is "Push to Talk". i.e.: unmute on keydown, then mute on keyup

Gather: https://support.gather.town/hc/en-us has a native application. It would be great if this worked rather than the web browser
